The Basel facility is located in the city's Birsfelden industrial district and includes 310,000 square feet (29,000 square metres) of manufacturing, packaging and warehouse facilities.
The facility specializes in parenterals in sterile forms, as well as semi-solids. Products include sterile injectibles, semi-solid creams and ointments. A new $12 million lyophilization plant and high speed powder filling line - for the conversion of liquids to freeze dried powder and then for powder filling into vials - became operational in 2007.

The plant currently manufactures two Legacy owned drug brands, ten key products for Valeant Pharmaceuticals and is an ideal facility for small volume, high value difficult to produce drugs requiring specialized plant and experienced employees.
Birsfelden offers a comprehensive one-stop solution for contract customers and license partners, with its own warehouse, regulatory support, compliance, quality assurance, product development and project management team.
